Different Between Concrete and Cement - Atlas Industries

The main difference between concrete and cement is that concrete is a composite of cement, water and aggregates. Atlas is manufacturer of Concrete Mixing Plants. Cement is powdered hydrated limestone and other minerals. It has the property to absorb water and to act as a binder. Cement is a binding substance which has the property of binding together with other materials.

Concrete cannot be made without cement. Cement when mixed with aggregates and water, fills the space between aggregates particles and glues them. Cement the main ingredient in concrete, requires moisture to gain strength. If it is kept moist for seven days it will shrink less and produce fewer cracks and gain more strength.

Reinforced concrete includes a mat of rebar, metal, and/or mesh added to provide extra support against stresses which is laid out prior to concrete pouring.

Used Concrete and Cement in Construction:

Cement used in construction can be categorized as hydraulic and non-hydraulic. Hydraulic cement hardens when it comes in contact with water or moisture. Hydraulic cement when fully formed is a water resistant product. One common example of hydraulic cement is Portland cement which is also known as OPC (Ordinary Portland Cement). Non hydraulic cement is cheaper than hydraulic cement but its inability to use in wet environment and long drying time makes it a poor choice for most of the applications. This is where the hydraulic cement excels.

In a concrete, aggregates make up around 60% to 80% of the mixture. The balance is cement and water. Aggregates can be gravel, crushed stone, sand or recycled cement. The type and selection of the aggregates fully depends on the concrete application. Concrete properties depend in the ration of aggregates-water-cement. Water to cement ratio is very critical as less water will make it difficult to correctly mix concrete and more water will make the final product weak. Different types and sizes of aggregates can be used in a mix to form concrete. It is better if the aggregates are clean and without excess dust as dust can absorb a lot of water. Concrete mixer is used to mix aggregates, water and cement to make concrete. Concrete batching plant come in various capacities and offer separate weighing option for aggregates, cement and water.

Concrete initially is in a form of a semi-liquid and then it achieves solid state and hardness. Some of the advantages of concrete are that it is weather proof, durable, low maintenance, fire resistant, environment friendly and has high strength. The applications of concrete for construction are infinite.Cement and concrete are distinctly separate products.

WHAT ADVANCE TECHNOLOGY DOES THE TOP ASPHALT BATCH MIX PLANT FACTORY HAVE?

If the requirement is top quality hot mix asphalt, then asphalt batch mix plant is the answer. It is best equipment to produce top quality hot mix asphalt in batches. It is well preferred only because of its ability to produce quality end product. Each material is weighed and the end product is far superior compared to the continuous mixing type plants. Advance technology that a top asphalt batch mix plant factory can have and will always be related to increasing the production and lowering the production costs. All this is done without hampering the end product quality. Atlas is Indian manufacturer and exporter of  hot mix asphalt plants  with distinct advantages like: Skid plates for all units Bag house with maximum cleaning efficiency Modular structure Containerized design Multi fuel and fuel efficient burner Renowned brought out items All the above points will help in increasing the overall quality of the product.  This also helps in giving certain advantages to custo...

Qualities of efficient bitumen sprayer | Atlas Pressure Distributor

Any type of road work will require uniform spraying of bitumen prior to laying of hot mix asphalt. This is where the super-efficient  Atlas bitumen sprayer  comes into picture. Its job is to uniformly spray bitumen on the road while moving – so that hot mix asphalt can be laid for road building. Truck mounted bitumen distributors are highly accurate and efficient. They are preferred by road contractors because of the accuracy they have to offer. Its specialty is that it has to handle a very sensitive material – bitumen. The handling of bitumen and its spraying has to be done at a very specific temperature so that desired spraying result can be achieved. Since Atlas make bitumen emulsion sprayers are truck mounted they can be easily taken to places. The demand for high quality equipment is on a rise because it has the ability to get the work done with fewer efforts. Atlas manufactures and exports bitumen pressure distributors in below tank capacities: • 4 ton...

What is Drum Mix Plant ? Features of Asphalt Drum Mix Plant

An asphalt mixing plant can be categorised into 2 types. Both of them have their own features and advantages. There are two basic  types of asphalt plants  available in the market today. One is the drum type continuous plant and other is the batch type of asphalt plant. The features and advantages of drum mix plant are different when compared to the batch mix plant . The end result / product produced by these two plants is the same. However, the difference lies in the quality of the product produced and also in the process by which the two types work. A drum mix plant producing asphalt will do so in its different method. It will have its own advantages and features when compared with any other type. One of the top benefits will include its easy operation, maintenance and low initial cost of investment. A drum plant is always preferred for its ability to quickly produce hot mix asphalt in short period of time. Asphalt drum mix plant (Features and advantages) Compact design and ...
